Today, I’m asking a question similar to last week. How do you determine whether a statement is true or false?
To me, this is a more fundamental question than how to determine reality. Take the naturalist position, for example. If it’s correct, then empirical testing is the only way to test for existence. Truth is another matter, though, because empirical testing does not apply to the statement about empirical testing. To clarify, I can’t touch, taste, see, hear, smell, measure, or freeze the statement, “In order to prove something exists, you must touch, taste, see, hear, smell, measure, or freeze it.” So, how would I know that the statement is true?
Is there an objective way to test this, or is it based on our presupppositions? What do you think?
